Description

Ciprofloxacin Eye Drops is an antibiotic medication used to treat bacterial eye infections. It belongs to a class of drugs called fluoroquinolones.

Direction of Use: Follow the instructions given by your healthcare professional, usually it is instilled into the affected eye(s) twice a day, usually in the morning and evening.

Contraindication: It should not be used in individuals with a known hypersensitivity to ciprofloxacin or any other ingredient in the eye drops.

Doses and Administration: The recommended adult and pediatric dosage for ophthalmic use is 1 or 2 drops instilled into the affected eye every 2 hours for the first two days, then 1 or 2 drops instilled into the affected eye every 4 hours for the next 5 days.

Side Effects: Eye irritation, burning, itching, or stinging may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

Interactions: Ciprofloxacin Eye Drops may interact with other medications, particularly those that affect the eyes, such as other eye drops. Consult with a healthcare professional before taking this medication if you are taking any other medications.

Warnings and Precautions: Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface, as this may contaminate the solution. If you are wearing contact lenses, remove them before using this medication and wait at least 15 minutes after using the drops before putting your lenses back in. Consult with a healthcare professional before taking this medication if you have a history of allergies, especially to antibiotics.
