Description
Cinnarizine is an antihistamine and antiemetic medication used to treat symptoms of motion sickness such as nausea, vomiting, and dizziness. It can also be used to treat inner ear disorders such as Meniere’s disease.
Direction of Use: Cinnarizine is usually taken orally, with or without food, as directed by a healthcare provider.
Contraindication: Cinnarizine should not be used in people who have had an allergic reaction to it.
Doses and Administration: The recommended adult dose for motion sickness is 25-75 mg, 2-3 times daily. The recommended adult dose for Meniere’s disease is 75 mg, 3 times daily. The dose may be adjusted based on the individual’s response and tolerance.
Side Effects: Common side effects of Cinnarizine include drowsiness, dry mouth, and constipation.
Interactions: Cinnarizine may interact with other medications such as central nervous system (CNS) depressants, alcohol, and antihistamines, which can increase the risk of drowsiness and other side effects.
Warnings and Precautions: Cinnarizine can cause drowsiness and should be used with caution when driving or operating heavy machinery.
