Description
Basic Information : The drug Montelukast, which is a member of the class of drugs known as leukotriene receptor antagonists, is found in MONTAIR 5MG CHEW TABLET. Children and teenagers can use it to treat and prevent the warning signs and symptoms of asthma and seasonal allergic rhinitis (aged between 6-14 years). Additionally, it can be used to stop bronchospasm, which is the narrowing of the airways brought on by exertion.
Dosage & Administration : It should be taken as a whole with sufficient amount of water, preferably in the morning before food.

Dry mouth
Headache
Weakness
Rash
Altered sense of taste
Vitamin B12 deficiency
Joint and muscle pain
Decreased magnesium in blood
Interactions : To be taken on an empty stomach. There are no known interactions with food or beverages. However, nicotine, caffeine (coffee, tea, chocolate and cola) and alcohol can stimulate stomach acid or delay ulcer healing and hinder the treatment process.
