Description

Pramipexole dihydrochloride is a medication used to treat symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, such as tremors, stiffness, and difficulty with movement. It is also used to treat restless legs syndrome.

Direction of Use:

Pramipexole dihydrochloride is usually taken once a day with or without food. Follow the instructions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand.

Contraindication:

Pramipexole dihydrochloride should not be taken if you are allergic to it, or if you have certain conditions. Tell your doctor if you have:

-uncontrolled high blood pressure

-heart failure

-kidney disease

Side Effects:

Common side effects of pramipexole dihydrochloride include:

-nausea

-dizziness

-constipation

-sleepiness

-headache

Interactions:

Pramipexole dihydrochloride may interact with other medications, vitamins, or herbs you may be taking. An interaction between two medications does not always mean that you must stop taking one of them. Tell your doctor about all your current medicines and any you start or stop using, especially:

-dopamine agonist

-levodopa

-antidepressants

Warnings and Precautions:

-Tell your doctor if you have or have ever had a heart condition, high blood pressure, or kidney disease.

-You should not drive, operate heavy machinery, or do other dangerous activities until you know how pramipexole dihydrochloride affects you.

-Tell your doctor if you have any new or worsening symptoms of depression or suicidal thoughts during the first several months of treatment, or whenever your dose is increased.
