Description

METRONIDAZOLE 400MG is an antibiotic medication used to treat a variety of bacterial infections, including pelvic inflammatory disease, endocarditis, and bacteremia.

Direction of Use: Metronidazole should be taken orally as directed by a healthcare provider. It can be taken with or without food, but should be taken with a full glass of water.

Contraindication: It is contraindicated in patients with a known hypersensitivity to metronidazole or other nitroimidazoles.

Doses and Administration: The usual adult oral dosage is 7.5 mg/kg every six hours for seven days.

Side Effects: Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and a metallic taste in the mouth.

Interactions: METRONIDAZOLE may interact with alcohol, lithium, and warfarin.
